3 Questions Wednesday with Deborah Malone

DMalone (4)Today we welcome cozy mystery author, Deborah Malone, to 3 Questions Wednesday!

Hi, Deborah! So glad you stopped by. First question.

Which author would you never get tired of, and why?

Deborah: This is a hard one. I have enjoyed a lot of authors over the years. It’s hard to pick one when there are so many good Christian authors. I will say Ann George and Patricia Sprinkle influenced my writing cozy mysteries. Even though their books would not be considered Christian fiction (I didn’t even know it existed then) their books taught me a lot about writing cozies.

I do enjoy a good mystery. 🙂 Especially if there is an interesting villain.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Deborah: Oh, I don’t think I’ve ever thought of this before. If I had to pick one it would be Bob Ewell in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” That man was downright mean and was out to get Scout and Jem. That was such a tense scene (in the book and in the movie) when they were coming back from the costume party and he is after them. Love Boo Radley 🙂

A great southern novel. Last question:

What project are you currently working on?

Deborah: Glad you ask this. I just finished up edits on my latest book “Buckhead Dead.” This is the first book in a new series with new characters. The Skye Southerland Cozy Mystery Series happens in and around Atlanta, GA. Skye is an interior decorator and her husband, Mitch, deals in antiques. Honey Truelove is Skye’s best friend and assistant at Stylish Décor. Honey’s cousin, Ginger, who is a recovering exotic dancer has come to stay with Honey for a while. Of course they have all kinds of adventures, even going to the Caribbean while solving a crime. As you can see I’m super excited about this series. I’m hoping it will be out in time for Christmas! Thank you for having me, Jennifer and crew!

Oh, good! A new book for me to read. Thanks so much for the visit.
